Meet Satish Kaushik Wife, Shashi Kaushik
Satish Kaushik, born on April 13, 1956 in Mahendragarh, Haryana, was a renowned Indian film actor, director, and theatre actor. He graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University in 1972 and then went on to study at the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. Kaushik gained popularity as an actor in the Indian film industry with remarkable performances in movies like “Mr. India” as “Calendar”, “Deewana Mastana” as “Pappu Pager”, and “Brick Lane” as “Chanu Ahmed”.
He won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award twice for his notable roles in “Ram Lakhan” in 1990 and “Saajan Chale Sasural” in 1997. Apart from being an acclaimed film actor, Kaushik was also an exceptional theatre actor and is best remembered for his portrayal of “Willy Loman” in the Hindi adaptation of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman”, “Salesman Ramlal”.
He had written dialogues for the 1983 comedy classic, “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” directed by Kundan Shah. Kaushik later ventured into film direction, with his first film being “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” in 1993, followed by “Prem” (1995), “Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain” (1999), and “Teree Sang” (2009) among others. He was also a co-founder of the film company Karol Bagh Productions with Anupam Kher.
Kaushik was committed to making five films to promote Haryana’s film industry and was working on a movie based on the life of Tansen. He was cast in the lead role of SAB TV’s show, “The Great Indian Family Drama” and was planning to make a sequel to his hit movie, “Tere Naam” (2003). However, he passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 66 on March 9, 2023, in Gurgaon. His last Instagram post showed him enjoying the Holi festival at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s house with Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, and Mahima Chaudhry.

Satish Kaushik was indeed married to Shashi Kaushik, whom he tied the knot with in 1985. Together, they had two children. Satish and Shashi were known to have a strong and loving relationship, and they often supported each other in their respective careers. Shashi Kaushik was known to be a very private person, and not much is known about her personal life. However, she was known to be a pillar of support to Satish throughout their married life. Satish and Shashi had a long and happy marriage, and their love for each other was evident to those around them.
